Additional Extras

Motor Legal Protection
If you’re worried about legal expenses in the event of a non-fault road traffic accident, then add Motor Legal Protection to your insurance policy.
In the case of a non-fault accident, we can cover you for up to £100,000 in legal expenses to help with reclaiming uninsured losses such as your policy excess, repair costs, and loss of earnings. We can also provide you with a replacement plated taxi so that you can stay on the road throughout.
Following the Whiplash reforms, it has never been more important to purchase Legal protection cover. Officially called The Civil Liability Act 2018 (CLA), this change in law emphasises how important Motor Legal Protection is, as in the event of an accident it ensures the policyholder has legal representation and solicitor costs covered, which prior to the law changing, were paid for by the at-fault Insurance company.
Motor Legal Protection can be easily added on to your public or private hire policy and could save you time, stress, and money in the future. Get the peace of mind that if you have a non-fault accident, you’re not incurring expensive legal and solicitor fees!

Public Liability Insurance
If a member of the public gets injured whilst in your care, standard taxi cover may not offer you Public Liability cover. To be fully covered, you’ll need to take out Public Liability Insurance.
As taxi drivers, your job is working with the public, so Public Liability Insurance is essential. This cover is designed to protect you and your business if a passenger, or member of the public, holds you responsible for an accidental third-party bodily injury, or for accidental property damage due to your negligence. This is particularly important if you have a council contract taking children to school, for example.
At Insure Taxi, our Public Liability Insurance can cover you for personal injury or death to a third party, loss or damage to a third-party property, and can also cover the legal expenses associated with defending a claim against you. So, if an accident occurs and a claim is made against you, this cover will provide financial protection.

Excess Protection Insurance
When taking out an insurance policy, you must select an amount of excess that you will need to pay if you make a claim. Often, higher excess amounts can bring down the cost of your insurance overall, but can mean that you could be out of pocket in the event that you make an insurance claim.
Excess Protection Insurance is designed to recover your excess payment when making a claim against your policy. It can work alongside your existing Private Hire, Public Hire or Chauffeur Insurance policy, and allows you to reclaim the excess that you’ve had to pay out. This can be particularly useful for new or younger drivers with high excess limits.
With this policy, the cost of repairs to the vehicle must exceed the policy excess, so that’s helpful to keep in mind when selecting an excess amount. It’s also useful to note that the excess must be paid in full and reimbursed once the claim has been settled. Excess Protection Insurance does not cover glass replacement.
