A 32% rise in revenue worth £13.2m sees Kabbee app make a splash in the market of online taxi sales
The Kabbee App has come on in leaps and bounds since the black cab strike of 2014. In the summer of last year up to 12,000 black cabs gridlocked London. The strike came after the dominance of Uber in London. Although this move proved to back fire on the black cab drivers when it saw Uber’s sign up figures rise 850% compared to the previous weeks sign up figures.
The price comparison booking app saw their yearly sales grow by a massive 32% bringing in a staggering £13.2m. They have produced this in an increasingly growing market previously overpowered by Uber. Cabs operating under Kabbee managed 307,854 journeys in six months between January and June continuing to stay on track for 700,000.
Kabbee are looking forward to launching their fully redesigned version of their iOS app in the next month or so and also plan to make changes to their Android app in the upcoming months. They also plan to sign a further 6,000 more cabs over the next six months.
Chief Executive Justin Peters was quoted saying, “I think we’ll be the first cab app to be profitable across all consolidated costs. That will be proof of our concept – that you can build a profitable cab app”. This speaks volumes for the growing business looking to prove to be a giant in the market.
